Our Staff Team.
The Penderyn Village Pantry was founded in February 2021 by a few likeminded members of the community who wanted to do 'something' about food waste.
We started with a small team of 6 volunteers and collecting food once a week. 3 1/2 years later, we have a team of some 50 volunteers collecting 6 nights a week, allowing our Pantry to be open 7 days a week.

Here at the centre we offer the village pantry, a Community Food Waste initiative.

Our amazing team of volunteers collect donated food from local supermarkets in collaboration with FareShare.org.uk. This food is freely available to everyone 7 days a week. Our motto is:

"Take what you need, leave what you can"​

Every Thursday morning (9-10am) we hold an indoor Pantry where we invite you in with a warm welcome for free refreshments, informal information sessions and of course, a good ol’ natter with the locals.

Join us at 9am Every Thursday, where we hold the pantry indoors. We invite you to stay and have a cuppa and a chat with our volunteers and locals.
Fighting against food poverty
There's no doubt that our communities are feeling the pinch when it comes to food prices. Our team are actively involved in addressing this through campaign work, networking and helping out where we can.
Because of our amazing volunteers, fundraisers, supportive community members, funders and networking partners, we have been able to support numerous families on our local communities during their times of need, by providing food parcels and essential groceries to get them through the week.
